My precious, my pretty....

My camera has arrived, and it works! It's beautiful! It takes great photos! now, I have a toy of my own to play with, and to get stuff for :-) I need to get a macro lens, and a wide angle. Aside from that, I think I'm actually set for a while on lenses, but having my camera at least is great!

Aside from that, the other updates in my life include the fact that I'm 1/2 way through my classes for the quarter. I have 3 days left on my online class, and then just the ground classes for the rest of the quarter. At the end of the month we're going out to Seattle, which I'm looking forward to; and when we get back I'll have 3 weeks of class left. Thus far this quarter seems to be going well - I should be able to continue this for next quarter as well, since if I get the classes I want, I'll have classes on Wed, Thurs, and Fri morning, and one online class. Two quarters in a row of sleeping at home every day; I don't know if I can handle it :-)

As far as home goes, last weekend Pandy was over; she was a bit sick though so we took care of her. We seem to have figured out what was causing a great deal of her physical pain (which her doctors hadn't been able to do - score one for us :-) ), but she paid me back by passing her cold/flue/whatever to me :-( So, I've been fighting off this thing all week, and was out sick from work on Tuesday and Weds, and from school on Tues. The house at the end of the week wasn't looking to great, but we had more guests come over on Sat for board games, so that gave me the energy I needed to get the house tip-top again; much better now!

The house itself is starting to look very different! Since my new landlord took over and moved in to the other side, we've had the bathroom downstairs repainted, and new sink/toilet put in. We've also had new flooring put in all over downstairs, and also in the kitchen, entryway, and upstairs bathroom. She's currently having the upstairs bathroom wall repaired - the tile was re grouted - and once the wall is done she's planning to repaint the walls. She's been doing a lot of yard work as well, clearing out the weeds that made up most of the back yard; and has plans for what she's going to do to it next year - no planting for a year due to the weedkiller. She also planted along the side of the house, and is making plans for the future. In addition to replacing the windows, which need it rather badly, she also plans to expand the back porch. She got a gas grill for us to share out back, and in general is a great landlord. The place is going to look very different, and much better, by the time we leave it!

I'm currently making plans for my WHOLE MONTH OFF FROM CLASSES that's coming up soon now. I think I'm going to work on making some beadwork, and inventorying my beading supplies since I have continued to add to them :-) I'm also going to see what it feels like again to have work and no classes for long enough to enjoy, and too short to get bored. After this quarter I have 7 more quarters to go . So far, I'm on track to finish on time, which is a wonderful feeling.

Seamus and I are doing fine as well; life with him continues to be very easy; the kind of easy you're told doesn't exist. Both of us have been surprised by this on a regular basis! I think I may finally be getting over my waiting for the shoe to drop; as it always has in the past. If you think about it in terms of karma, I guess it makes sense. Both of us paid so much in advance karma that we must be owed something really good now :-)

Now if only the
job stresses would ease up a bit things would be perfect! I like my job, and it pays very well. Plus with luck, we just referred someone that will earn us a bonus and also work out very well here. However, my job is still causing me more stress than classes do, and I'd prefer that classes cause the most stress! After all, the photography is what I'll be doing in the future....
