And the sleeping awake...

This has been the worst quarter thus far. I'm not sure what made it so bad; though it was likely in part due to me missing a week of classes for that stupid stomach flu thing early in the quarter; but I've spent the entire quarter running to get caught up. And of course, when I get behind in class, I likewise get behind at work as well; so I've been feeling really overwhelmed for the past 6 weeks. This week it came to a head; and now I'm safely through the other side. In fact my insane running around has actually gotten me well ahead of schedule, so instead of needing to spend 10+ hours printing this weekend, all of my prints are done, and I can learn how to matt them finally. I also don't have to go through the 650+ digital photos I took for my photojournalism class; I just need to put the powerpoint together instead. So, for next week when I need to turn in the major part of two classes, I'm in really good shape. Likewise at work I'm actually getting to the point where all I need to work on is the stuff I'm supposed to be working on each week, rather than the buildup from the last 4+ weeks. For the past 9 weeks, my life has comprised of work, class, and sleep. There have been entire days that I've slept through on the weekend because I didn't have any energy left from my week, and likewise there have been many times that I wondered if I was going to make it through this quarter. Now, the end is in sight, and I've even managed to improve my grades from their low point, so my GPA will still stay high.

Thus, I will soon be able to actually do strange things, like stay awake and talk to people, or take pictures for fun again (if I can remember what that's like). I may even start a roll of film and not immediately have to finish it so I can print from it (I can't make for my digital to come....). I'm even starting to have an easier time remember stuff I want to do or need to look up; for instance I finally looked up how and why light temperature is measured in degrees Kelvin, and Seamus and I had fun discussing it (at work :-) ) I'm even back to making a to do list for stuff at home, rather than just at work, and I may be able to post some more pictures on my flickr soon :-)
